25th Anniversary Gala Date is Set!

Mark your calendars for August 11, 2006!  CTE is holding a 25th Anniversary Gala in honor of all participants and staff who have built the wonderful tradition that is CTE.

The evening's festivities include hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, cake, live entertainment all evening long, a live fundraising auction and a 25-year multimedia testimonial from current and former members! Don't miss out on this once in a lifetime event.  Invitations and ticket information will be mailed out soon.

CTE would also like items with a retail value of $100 or more to auction at this event. If you have any such items to donate or would like to lend your talents in some ways, please call Rick Peters at (253) 912-9745 or email at christyrickmal@msn.com.

Parents’ Meeting Mystery Theatre Evening (with Dessert!) Returns!! CTE Book!

The 2006 Parents’ Meeting will be held on Sunday, June 25th at the Olympia High School Performing Arts Building at 6:30 pm.

This is great opportunity to find out more about this summer’s activities and to meet the Staff and Interns.

We strongly encourage you to attend.  It really benefits CTE and the families when guardians attend, and particularly helps things run more smoothly Monday morning!

Board members will be there to help you with the registration process, to answer any questions you may have, and to sign up those who are interested in helping out during the shows.

The 2006 parent guide book will soon be available on our website.

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting!

Our very popular Mystery Theatre Evening returns!

For those who don't know, the Interns present a short play that introduces all of the characters. Then you, the audience, split into groups and start looking for clues to the identity of the murderer. At the end, the Interns act out the solution to the murder.

This year’s Mystery Night offering is “Trouble at the Talent Show” by Eileen Moushey.

Included in the cast will be the 2006 Interns as well as former Interns and students.

Please join the mayhem on Sat, July 15th at 7:00 p.m. at the OHS Performing Arts Center

We encourage you to get a team together to participate and buy a table's worth of tickets!

A note from Melissa:

"Hi, CTE friends! My name is Melissa Williams. I used to be an Intern at CTE, and now I'm working on an exciting project for the 25th Anniversary celebration.

For the past year, I've been collecting memories and stories from students, interns, staff, and parents of CTE to write a book about the history of the program. The book talks about a lot of things, including what makes CTE so special, how the program has changed over the years, and even a little bit about Sparkle Plenty!

I am getting very excited to share it all with you and I can't wait to see you this summer!"

The book price will be set after the book has been published. Orders will be taken starting at Parent Night.

Send your memories to CTE!

Peter Pan!

2006 Interns

In 1981, under the guidance of Tracey Foster and Lois Wofford, Creative Theatre Experience presented its very first production, the musical Peter Pan, based on the J. M. Barrie classic featuring pirates, fairy dust, the wonders of childhood, the mystery of growing up, and, most of all, believing in magic.

An imaginative creative arts and theatre program was inaugurated with that show and CTE has been celebrating the magic of the arts and theatre with thousands of young people for twenty five years.

In celebration of their 25th anniversary, CTE is once again presenting “Peter Pan.”

To make this year’s event even more special, CTE has  secured the services of Flying by Foy, the same company that “flew”  Mary Martin in the original production as well as Sandy Duncan and  Cathy Rigby in the revivals.

This season’s offering includes Spotlight director Jason Haws as Peter’s nemesis, Captain Hook.

Please join us as imagination takes flight and help us celebrate our first 25 years and proudly set sail for the next twenty five.

We still believe in Magic -- come fly with us!

Looking for Financial Backers!

In an effort to offer a quality program at an affordable price, CTE looks to outside financial assistance in the form of grants, show sponsors, silent auction donations, and advertising.

Here are some of the ways businesses can help:

Show Sponsorships
– Sponsor-ships are in increments of $500.  Last year CTE was fortunate to have Scherer Associates as a Sponsor.  In addition, a number of other businesses contributed financially.

To see a list of 2005 contributors on our website, click on the "Contributors" link in the left column

Advertising – A business can purchase a small ad in the playbill for as little as $50 and up to $250.  The ads are in the playbill for all three workshop productions.

General Operating Supplies CTE can always use office supplies, art supplies, set building materials, costume materials,

and other items.  This is a great, low-cost way for business to support CTE.

If you think your employer could help, please leave a message on CTE phone (360) 459-2093 or write   creativetheatre@comcast.net.

CTE can either send you materials to share with your employer or they can contact your employer directly.  If you own a business and want to help, please let us know.
