"The ATrain Plays"

A daredevil theater project in which playwrights create new work from scratch during the course of a single New York City subway ride. All of the characters are confined inside a single subway car -- from a stripper to a celebrity-stalker to the Savior himself.  Alternately hilarious and deeply human, the Atrain Plays hum with the relentless energy of their namesake.

Performances are at Olympia High School runs Friday November 4 and Saturday November 5, 2005 at 7:30.  It is also schedule to run from Nov 10 through 12, but call the ticket office at 596-7036 to see if they are rescheduled because of football playoffs.  No CTE kids are in it, but Kathy Dorgan, our CTE Director, is directing it.

"The Mikado"

The most popular Gilbert and Sullivan opera, and arguably the most popular opera ever written. This opera has delighted audiences for more than a century, and spawned a number of imitations. But none were nearly as good as the original, which represented both Gilbert and Sullivan at the height of their creative geniuses.

Sheila Whybrow, CTE Staffer is in the Opera Pacifica's production of Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Mikado." The shows are November 19 and 20 at the Fox Theatre in Centralia and December 2&3 at the North Thurston High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $15 and $10. Shoshana lived in Olympia until she was 9 and joined Creative Theatre Experience as a small child.  She still remembers CTE's warm, supportive atmosphere, where she said there were no stars and everyone had a good time.  CTE gave Shoshana a great introduction to theater, said Jeff, Shoshana's dad.
